Harry Styles took fans back to where it all began at his Halloween show in New York, swapping an Elvis jumpsuit for the outfit he wore at his 2010 X Factor audition and singing the song that launched his career, Stevie Wonder’s Isn’t She Lovely.
The first of two “Harryween” concerts, on Friday 30 October, opened with Styles dressed as Elvis Presley in a white jumpsuit, cape and gold sunglasses. His band and dancers came as versions of Harry himself, recreating looks from Coachella, the Grammys and the Met Gala.
Later in the show he changed into his audition outfit and sang Isn’t She Lovely, joking with the crowd about mentioning his job at a bakery back in 2010, according to NME.
Styles was 16 and from Holmes Chapel in Cheshire when he auditioned for The X Factor. He began with Train’s Hey, Soul Sister before Simon Cowell stopped him and asked him to sing without music. He switched to Isn’t She Lovely for judges Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh, went through, and was later put into the group that became One Direction.
Harryween has become one of the most talked-about dates in his calendar. In 2021 he dressed as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz to sing Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and as a clown to cover Britney Spears’ Toxic. In 2022 in Los Angeles he was Danny Zuko from Grease and sang Hopelessly Devoted to You.
The New York run ends on 31 October. Styles then heads to Australia, with shows in Melbourne in November and Sydney in December. He has also added more 2027 dates to his Together, Together tour, including extra Wembley Stadium concerts, with Kylie Minogue and LCD Soundsystem as support.
