Kings of Leon in a 3,800-capacity room, the Lord Mayor’s Show, Armistice Day and the first of the big Christmas markets: here’s what’s on in London this week, from Monday 9 to Sunday 15 November.
Monday 9 November – a foggy start: the Met Office has a yellow fog warning for London until 11am, so allow extra time for the morning commute and check flights before heading to the airport.
Tuesday 10 November – Kings of Leon play their only UK and European show for new album O My Beloved at the British Airways ARC, Olympia London – tiny by their standards. Down by the river, Winter by the River opens at London Bridge City, with festive stalls near Tower Bridge and curling for groups.

Wednesday 11 November – Armistice Day. A two-minute silence is held across the country at 11am, with a service at the Cenotaph and at the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey.
Thursday 12 November – Kingston‘s Christmas market opens. Jay Sean fans can try the artist presale for his Diamond Era Tour, which ends at the O2 Forum Kentish Town in October 2027.
Saturday 14 November – the Lord Mayor’s Show fills the Square Mile with marching bands, horses and the golden State Coach from 11am, as Alderman Bronek Masojada becomes the 698th Lord Mayor. It’s free to watch; most City roads close.
The Southbank Centre Winter Market and Leicester Square Christmas Market are already open and free to enter. The London Korean Film Festival runs until 16 November, and the Voila! Theatre Festival until 22 November.
Dates and times can change – check with venues and TfL before you travel.
