The Cure will be back on tour in 2027, and Robert Smith says the setlists will be “bursting with new songs”.

Speaking to Nick Grimshaw on BBC Radio 6 Music, the singer confirmed more dates are on the way, but said he is “not allowed to say where or when yet”.

Two new Cure albums are finished

The band recorded new material at Rockfield Studios in Wales, and Smith said earlier this year that two new albums are complete. None of the new songs has been played live yet.

What we know about the next Cure albums
💿 Album one: darker than 2024’s Songs of a Lost World. Smith called it “more dismal”, though he said that word is a little harsh
💿 Album two: upbeat and poppy. Smith calls it his “idea of Cure Pop”
🎂 The celebrations could run until the band’s 50th anniversary in 2028

Songs of a Lost World, released in November 2024, was the band’s first album in 16 years and went to Number 1 in the UK. The Cure played a one-off launch show for it at the Troxy in east London.

The band toured this summer, with shows at Manchester’s Wythenshawe Park, the Isle of Wight Festival, Primavera Sound in Barcelona and Rock en Seine in Paris. Smith also curated Teenage Cancer Trust shows at the Royal Albert Hall and joined Olivia Rodrigo on stage for the live premiere of What’s Wrong With Me.
