Man City team news

Semenyo is still out with the knee injury he picked up against Ipswich last month and has missed City’s last four games. He is expected back around mid-December. Semenyo, Ryan McAidoo and Kaden Braithwaite missed Tuesday’s training before the squad flew to Germany, but there are no new injury worries.

Marc Guehi and Nico O’Reilly are expected to return, and Phil Foden is likely to start, with Rayan Cherki behind Erling Haaland. There are questions over Gianluigi Donnarumma after some shaky displays. Maresca said before the Brighton game: “There is no player that is undroppable.” Gerónimo Rulli is the alternative.

RB Leipzig team news

Leipzig, managed by Martin Demichelis, are without Assan Ouédraogo (shoulder) and Marc Guiu (muscle). Defender Maxime Estève is a doubt with a knock.

Form guide

City have lost their last two Premier League games, 2-1 at Aston Villa and then against Brighton, and have dropped to second behind Arsenal. In Europe they beat Porto 2-0, lost 4-2 to PSG and thrashed AEK Athens 5-1, leaving them 10th on six points.

Leipzig lost 4-1 to both Como and Real Madrid before beating PSV 1-0. They are 29th on three points, but have won their last three games in all competitions.

Head to head

City have won four of the six previous meetings, with one draw and one Leipzig win. The last time they met, in November 2023, City came from 2-0 down to win 3-2. The six games have produced 30 goals. Italian referee Marco Guida takes charge.
