The story behind the title

Doveland takes its name from an internet urban legend about a town in the American Midwest that supposedly vanished – a place that appears on no map. The band use it as a starting point for songs about memory, isolation, loss and the search for somewhere else.

Watch: Year Of The Snake

Singer and producer Dave Maclean has described “Year Of The Snake” – the fourth song shared from the album – as a deeply personal track.
