Ellie Goulding goes full gothic in sheer black lace and a blindfold mask

Ellie Goulding has gone full gothic, posing in a sheer black lace gown and a shiny blindfold-style mask in a set of photos that has already racked up more than 40,000 likes.

The singer shared the pictures on Instagram on Wednesday with a simple two-word caption: “So spooky”.

What was Ellie Goulding wearing?

The 39-year-old wore a floor-length, see-through black lace dress with long ruffled sleeves, a high neck and a keyhole front, layered over black lace underwear and stockings. She finished the look with a large cross pendant, sparkling earrings, dark smoky eye make-up and deep red lips.

In several of the shots she also wore a wide, glossy black mask across her eyes, posing against velvet curtains, in a narrow wood-panelled corridor and at a table in a dimly lit bar.

What is Ellie Goulding doing now?

The look comes a couple of months after Ellie released her latest album, I Know Too Much, in September. She has said it is not a “divorce album”, but that the songs moved from dark and angry to excitement about her new relationship with partner Beau Minniear, including the track “4 Seasons”, about falling in love on a trip to Florence.

Ellie has a son, Arthur, with her ex-husband Caspar Jopling, and a daughter, Iris, with Beau.
