A Halloween outing does not have to begin with an expensive family ticket. At Battersea Power Station, a free LEGO activity gives children the chance to build a Ghost Street model and take it home. There is a catch worth knowing before promising anyone a new creation: Sunday’s session lasts just two hours, and the available builds are limited.
The Sunday 25 October session runs from noon to 2pm at the LEGO Store. The offer is first come, first served, with one build per person while stocks last. It is intended for children aged six and over and may not suit younger children. Those details make this a short, focused stop rather than an all-day activity.

The store itself normally opens from noon until 6pm on Sundays, but the Ghost Street activity ends at 2pm. Arriving later in the afternoon because the shop is still open will not extend the advertised event. The store is on the ground floor of Turbine Hall A, so save that location before setting off.
Its usual attractions include a Pick & Build Wall, a demonstration table and Build a Minifigure. These are part of the shop’s wider offer, not a promise that every activity or product is included for free. Ask the store team what is available and what costs extra before children begin choosing additions.
There is also a separate in-store scavenger hunt, running from 24 to 31 October. Participants look for hidden brick-built scary creatures around the shop, with a treat available while supplies last. This is a different activity from assembling the take-home Ghost Street model, so do not assume the two offers have the same timetable.
That distinction is useful if Sunday does not work for your family. The hunt offers another reason to visit during half-term, although the reward remains subject to availability. Explain the activity as a search for hidden creatures, rather than a guaranteed giveaway, and ask staff about the day’s arrangements when you arrive.
Battersea’s family visitor guide also lists Prospect Place Playground, alongside attractions such as the cinema, Bounce and The Chimney Lift. These offer very different kinds of visit. A playground stop may suit a child who needs to move after concentrating on a build; a booked attraction needs its own time and budget.
Our suggestion is to choose one main activity and one simple alternative before leaving home. There is little benefit in turning a free event into a rushed sequence of paid extras. Decide together whether lunch, a riverside wander or another attraction is genuinely part of the plan, and allow enough time for breaks.
Battersea Power Station has a Zone 1 Northern line station, with its entrance on Battersea Park Road. The destination is also served by Uber Boat by Thames Clippers. For rail travellers, the official visitor guide places Battersea Park station around ten minutes’ walk away and Queenstown Road around fifteen minutes away.
If you are driving, the published car-park tariff starts at £6 for under two hours and £10 for two to four hours. The operator warns that parking can fill during weekends and peak periods. A free build therefore does not necessarily mean a free outing: compare travel costs, allow time to reach the shop and check live transport information before departure.
Keep the event page and store listing handy on your phone. Check the day, the noon start, the age guidance and the stock condition together, rather than relying on a social post alone. If you are travelling mainly for the model, confirm the latest arrangements with the store before making a long journey. A flexible plan leaves space to enjoy the visit even if the limited supply has already gone.
