A 13-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after two pupils were stabbed at a secondary school in north-west London, Metropolitan Police confirmed.

Emergency services were called to Kingsbury High School shortly after midday following reports of a stabbing on the school premises. Officers later confirmed that a second boy, aged 12, had also been injured.
Police said the first call was received at around 12:40 GMT. Both victims were taken to hospital, with one transferred to a major trauma centre as a priority. Officers said both boys are believed to be in a serious condition.
Kingsbury High School is an academy serving pupils aged 11 to 18 across upper and lower sites and has just under 2,000 students.
A 13-year-old boy was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody.
Due to the seriousness of the incident, the investigation is being led by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command. Police stressed, however, that the stabbing has not been declared a terrorist incident.

Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams said the attack would cause “considerable concern” locally and thanked paramedics and hospital staff treating the injured boys.
In a statement issued shortly after 14:00, Kingsbury High School said there had been a “serious incident” and confirmed it was working closely with the relevant authorities.
The school said the situation was under control but that it was not possible to enter or leave the site while the emergency response continued. Parents and carers of the students involved were contacted directly.
Bob Blackman, Conservative MP for Harrow East and Chairman of the 1922 Committee, said he was deeply shocked by the incident.

In a post on social media platform X, Blackman said his thoughts were with the injured boys, their families and the school community. He thanked the emergency services for their swift response and said he was in contact with police as the investigation continues.
Teachers and residents in the area said the incident had left the local community deeply shaken.
A teacher at a nearby school described the attack as “very sad and shocking”, adding that news of such violence so close to home was extremely distressing.
Police remain at the scene as forensic work continues and detectives seek to establish the circumstances leading up to the attack. Further updates are expected as enquiries progress.
